History does not support your asertion. The GNP was stable, the stock market was okay, the debt was okay, the only long standing was an issue started many years ago, I seem to remember under Jimmy Carter via a Democrat Congress, literally giving money away to people who could not afford a home. It was a grest idea BUT the consequences NEVER understood by Fannie/Freddy. I predicted a disaster because I saw people letting everything go so they could pay their way. When the people's stuff began to die, there simply was not enough income to support them, then the sky fell. I also noted the cost of a home rising beyond value. I was safe to sit in my paid for home. I know finance, I have NEVER paid except by cash/credit card and never pay interest. YES, I did it MY WAY. I did NOT have the Fed pay one dime. I did START my OWN business WITHOUT ANY Fed help or help from anyone including my dirt poor family, whom I support several as we speak. BTW, I was invited at one time to run for Lt. Gov. in MA. I lived in Europe for 3 years 1 during this war as an Army nurse.  I lived in the Orient for 4.5 years.  Spain for 2.  I did enjoy it very much and suppose it was comfortable because my mother and grandfather came to America after WWII.  My dad was American.  I feel more than blessed to be born in the U.S.A.

By the by took them 8.5 years to get their citizenship so I have no heart for the bleeding heart illegals today.

My dad drove to Canada and reentered the USA legally and became a citizen. I have no sympathy for criminal illegals. oldmrjim you have a great Holiday.  Wow what a quote.  Indeed they operate under the Democratic Party because if people were educated to all the Progressives in office they would run away screaming especially when they understand just what a Progressive is.
