Discuss gmthomson's answer to: Assessing the President

The president ran on bipartisanship and openness, yet the stimulus was well short of a joint project between the two parties. It appears democrats worked alone and used urgency to trump teamwork and judgement. President Obama let Pelosi and REEd get the upper hand with no good choice on the stimulus. Back them and get a sub optimal bill or throw them under the bus and start over with his leadership as the driving force. Unfortun ately, his action was party motivated or time driven, the opposite of his campaign promise. More  of this behavior is a disaster!
