Tell us how you think President Barack Obama has handled the economic crisis so far. What's he done right? And what's he gotten wrong?
JFK'S
Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule
said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as
possible.
Rusk responded,
"Does that include those who are buried here?"
DeGaule did not respond.

When in England ,at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for
Iraq were just an example of 'empire building' by George Bush.
He answered by saying,
"Over the years, the United States has sent many of
its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return."

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French
and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you heard the latestdumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft
carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer
stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three
hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for
use in transporting victims and injured to and from
their flight deck. We have eleven such ships;
how many does France have?"

A U.S. Navy Admiralwas attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?"
Without hesitating,
the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the
Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German."

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting,
an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
"You
have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
. Whiting
admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."
The American said,
"The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible.
Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to."
If
you are proud to be an American, pass this on! If not, delete it.
I am proud to be of this land, AMERICA
Jim - I think you have to consider all the improvements President Obama has proposed and enacted regarding our fighting men and women. I particularly like the program for wounded vets. He has been aggressive in improving the way things are done from the start of his term.
If I'm not mistaken our bravest were sent into war in Iraq without even the most minimal protective gear during President Bush's tenure. Private citizens ended up donating millions of dollars for state of the art equipment to protect our military. If that's not a disgrace, I don't know what is.
As the daughter of a retired Army colonel, the treatment of military personnel is very important to me. It is a crime to send them into battle without everything they need to stay as safe as possible. It is also equally a crime not to care of them completely when they come back. Walter Reid has been sited as having deplorable conditions. Soldiers wait for months for prosthetics and aren't getting the correct mental health care to deal with the situation. Job counselling, continuing mental health care and mortgage relief were non-existent.
Let's be honest here, Jim. President Obama has done much more than President Bush ever did for these men and women who have risked life and limb trying to complete an extremely difficult mission. You may not like the man personally and you may not like his politiics - but the facts are the facts.
pattyp, you are a bleeding heart liberal who ignores the truth or makes up your own. NOTHING can be further from the truth about our men and women in uniform going into battle without everything necesssary to protect them. Keep listening and believing PMSNBC and keep feeling comfortable in believing their lies. It's exactly what you WANT to hear. You WANT to believe it...so you do.
President Bush repeatedly said over and over and over again throughout his presidency that our men and women would have the very best in armour and protective gear, no matter what the cost. I guess you never heard those broadcasts or tuned them out in your brain because it would never fit your agenda. Give me a freakin break! Obama went to Iraq during his campaign and decided NOT to visit the hospitalized military men when he found out that cameras would not be allowed, hence, NO PHOTO OPP!
Well what can a man who's running for president do in a war zone when there's no camera's and he's less than a mile away from the hospital????? Hmmm, that's a tough one! I know...GO TO THE GYM! THAT was much more important. Yes, as you say...THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS!
Sorry, Jimbo...you couldn't be more wrong. I'm certainly not in the category of "bleeding heart liberal". In some instances, a few of my beliefs actually do fall towards the conservative side. (Shh! Don't tell anyone).
I think you're the one drinking the KoolAid. There have been numerous reports from many sources about our boys getting traumatic head injuries because their gear was INFERIOR. Turn off Fox and read something unbiased.
I grew up in the military. My dad was an Army Colonel. I know first hand about the propaganda machine that tries to make the public believe everything is hunky dory with the Services. If you are so NAIVE that you believe what George Bush said about equipment, then I have a great bridge for you. As a matter of fact, since we're friends, I'll even give you a great deal on it.
Does it concern you that the intel that your hero used to get us into that hellhole Iraq was COMPROMISED and all the button pushers knew it was faulty before they decided to invade? Our fight was never with Saddam Hussein. It was only to find bin Laden. Treasure and blood should have been concentrated on that goal. It was none of our business whether or not they had a dictator in there. I'm not interested in helping out people that have historically stabbed us in the back time and time again. The entire Middle East is nothing but a cluster___ and I don't think we should lose one American life trying to get in the middle of their crap. They've been killing each other for centuries and will continue to do so, regardless of our involvement.
Look at how our good pals Pakistan (the pathological liars) cooperated in regard to bin Laden. Perfect example of how much trust we should invest there.
I'd rather have a President who gets behind programs like "Wounded Warrior", increases benefits, provides mortgage relief and psychological counselling for military families than one who prances around on an aircraft carrier like a jackass, braying "Mission Accomplished". The mission hadn't even started. How embarrassing to have a goofball like that in charge. When you're an entitled rich boy, I guess the world's really is your oyster. Too bad for us though.
Facts are facts, pal. Your holy roller President Bush really, really devastated this country kinda like the effect of carpet bombing us, huh? It's time to get it together in this country and start acting like our parents did. It was one country, one people - a perfect union. That's why we were the greatest country in the world - we were UNITED. If we don't get back to that attitude, we are going to be destroyed by these lunatics and extremists and weaken ourselves by getting involved in all their craziness around the world.
Take care of America and Americans FIRST.
First of all, who's Jimmy?
Secondly,Bin Laden was never in Iraq. If you are trying to say that President Bush started a war in Iraq to find Bin Laden, you are more hopeless than I could ever imagine. You believe that banter of how EVERYTHING is George Bush's fault, and sorry, that makes you a bleeding heart Liberal, and there is little hope for you. I am a military man myself. In a perfect world our men and women in uniform would have everything they needed at all times. The instances when missteps may have taken place is when you LOVE to blame President Bush. So go ahead, I can't change your mind. I know that.
The "mission accomplished" statement is something that President Bush himself said he wish he never did and that it was a mistake, something your boy can and NEVER will do...admit a mistake. Oh excuse me, I better say "your guy" or else of course, if I disagree with obama, then I MUST be prejudice, correct? But the mission he was referring to was the fall of Sadamn and the liberation of Iraq, something that WAS accomplished. He was not referring to Bin Laden.
But that's ok, just call him stupid and incompetent and whatever adjective you love to use on conservatives...can you say Sara Palin? And believe what you want to believe. As a bleeding heart liberal I certainly am not going to change your mind.
But facts are facts...obama loathes the military. He was half a world away from here but only a mere mile from soldiers that had lost limbs and were permanently scarred for life, and what was more important? The gym! Yes, he cancelled his visit with them because his entourage of media (remember he took with him CNN, PMSMBC, ABC, NBC, CNBC, The New York Times, CBS, and God only knows who else because he was campaigning to be president) were NOT ALLOWED to photograph him with the soldiers. So what the Hell..."Let's go to the gym!" Yes, that was FAR more important!
Now, just yesterday, you know...Memorial Day? The day we set aside to honor our men and women in uniform and pay our respects for all those who died for our freedom? Well, what did our deeply compassionate commander in chief do THAT day? Oh yes, it was such a good day for GOLF!!
Can't you see that he cares NOT for our military? Can't you see that!!!!? I'm sure your answer is a resounding "NO"! In fact, the fact that he went golfing probably has something to do with Bush, don't you think?
You say, "Does it concern you that the intel that your hero used to get us into that hellhole Iraq was COMPROMISED and all the button pushers knew it was faulty before they decided to invade?"
So you are sayin that Colin Powell knew? President Bush knew? Wow! Do you have a Secret Security Clearance (like I have)? Just wonder how you know all that. Well, I hate to break it to you but you are flat out wrong. The operative was called "cue ball", remember? Powell and Bush did NOT know. But again, believe what you wnat to believe. It is a free country afterall.
obama's arrogance is astounding, but what is so unbelievable is that his followers eat it up and think he can do no wrong. Come 2012, our country's nightmare will finally end!
