Discuss Kathy's answer to: Assessing the President

Tell us how you think President Barack Obama has handled the economic crisis so far. What's he done right? And what's he gotten wrong?

Maybe now would be a great time for OOPSBONEHEAD to donate the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE MONEY to a good cause like rebuilding Haiti.  Since he is so willing to offer our help.  He is da man with da money....our money.

Now, I don't mind sending money to Haiti.  He should really send his own money as well

Poor is an attitude, Broke is a temporary situation.....UNLESS THIS MORON TAKES THE REST OF OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. There is no such thing as freedom of choice, babies NEVER choose to die.

Heck, Pelosi too..

She is sitting on Millions...

And since Global Warming has been proven to be a hoax, Al Gore should kick in some money as well, instead of trying to rip everyone off with his misleading software.

He has Millions to invest in software that he claims would help the planet, (which was a LIE), let him help the planet by helping the injured in Haiti instead.

Global warming has not been proven to be a hoax.  Glaciers are shrinking and the weather seems unusually chaotic.  I dont care whether we call it global warming or not, but the weather seems to be getting strange.  And if it gets too strange for the plants we grow, we are in big trouble.  We can survive with expensive orange juice.  But corn, wheat, rice and potatoes are another thing entirely.

If anti-global-warming people invest in big oil, does that make them untrustworthy?  Or is it just Al Gore who is forbidden to put his money where his mouth is?

severed..

Whose fault is it that the Alpine Glaciers disappeared 7000 years ago, when there were no cars or factories?

How do you explain that?

Irrelevant.  7000 years ago there were not billions of humans whose lives depend on adequate harvests.  Duh!

If glaciers disappear and snowpack decreases, rivers become seasonal.  7000 years ago that did not matter.  Now it would trouble some areas, such as China and California.

severed...You are all over the place as usual, trying to confuse others.

of course it is relevant.

It proves that mankind is NOT responsible for Global Warming.

It proves that Global Warming is a natural occurrence and that we should let nature take it's course instead of trying to stop earths natural cycle, which could cause worse problems than global warming.

We would do better to spend the money on trying to figure out ways to cope with it, not stop it.

Just because warming periods can occur naturally does not mean that they all do, or that this one is not due to us.  We are still developing our understanding here.

Floods are natural occurrences, as are forest fires.  We try to prevent them both, and fight them once they occur.

Global warming will make Siberia and Canada liveable and heavily populated areas unliveable.  The way to cope with the resulting human migrations is with a world government rather than wars.  So we should try to stop it.

severed2009

You are right about causing worse problems, however.  With our well-intentioned antifire and antiflood activities we have often made the floods and fires worse.  We have to know what we are doing.

I like the ethic of using as little energy, and particularly oil and coal, as we can.  It is a thrifty pioneer mentality, looking for energy efficiency, very American.
