artist j kafferlein-  i have a water color by this artist and am interested in any information about him.  I think he is German.  The picture looks like an Alps scene.

I have six watercolours signed Kafferlein (ulaut over the a) Nu (umlaut over the u). My mother bought them when we lived in Bavaria (Landsburg-am-Lech, near Munich) while my father was stationed there during the US Occupation in 1949-51.

The paintings are views of locations in south Germany/Alps, signed in pencil in the lower border along with the title of the painting, and the words "original aquarelle".

I have done web searches on the name "Kafferlein" and do get some hits, but none have more infermation regarding the artist.

Sorry I can't be of more help other than to let you know that someone else has such watercolours.
