Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 to apply for Medicare.  Part A (Hospital) may be free.  Part B (doctor) requires a payment.  You can sign up 3 months before the month that you turn 65.  If you wait until you are 65, your Medicare coverage may not start for a couple of months.
