Is Apple affected by Steve Jobs' absence?

Steve Jobs is taking time off from day-to-day work at Apple in order to focus on his health.  Do you think that Jobs' absence is bad for Apple?

I personally think he is losing his Midas touch & his golden reputation just may be on the line with the mistakes that have been made with the iPhone 4.  We shall see if he is to remain the golden child or if another will rise to replace him.

Yes, I do. People buy whatever Steve throws out at them. People think that other companies such as HP aren't 'good enough' but really its just Steve who makes them sound better. I used a Macbook and an HP Pc and I liked the HP better and now I ended up choosing the HP which I am using at this very moment.

My son-un-law works for Apple (Genius Bar & Repairs at the retail store level).

According to him, it certainly hasn't hurt their business any.

I don't think it will.. Although people have really associated apple to john.. as long as apple do a great job with their tech.. then their market will do good.
