Discuss Bill Compton's answer to: Apollo 7-17 25th Anniversary set

Is the Apollo 7-17 25th Anniversary set available?

Everyone remembers the time Neil Armstrong stepped onto the Moon in 1969.  "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."  These words marked the beginning of the new age: where anything -- absolutely anything -- is possible.

Allow me to quote Buzz Aldrin, the second man on the Moon.  "I am the vine, you are the branches.  Without me, you can do nothing."  He quotes Christ, the maker of all genuine progress and the grandest of adventures.  Even so, we are only at the beginning, going where Christ made the places for us to go.

Let us be humble as we do the impossible.

So it still remains, America is the only nation to have placed people on the Moon.  No other nation had the hubris or dedication to do so.  That alone makes America special.  We have done it and we made it look easy.

That wasn't 25 years ago.  That was 40 years ago.  NASA has not slowed their work.  Now, they are getting ready for a much larger jump: a return to the Moon and then to Mars.

It is a question of destiny.  We must put aside our petty squabbling among ourselves to accomplish the next impossible goal.

We must do so if only to please the God who created us . . . and the places He has sent us to visit.

Guard, protect and cherish your land, for there is no afterlife for a place that started out as Heaven. Charles M. Russell, Montana, 1929.
