Aol search window and more

Hi,

Now that I have a new computer and AOL 9.0 to work with, my question is about the window that pops up each time I sign onto AOL. "The search the web" window is one thing that I would be happy to delete. Any ideas?

Also in the task bar at the lower right hand corner, I have the Num lock, Caps lock and Scroll lock all appearing in a row-- surprise! How do I delete those as well? Many thanks. Smile

Hi, Joni--

I just successfully got rid of the beastly little pop-up myself.  Click the "Keyword" option from the menu bar at the top of your AOL 9.0 screen and select "Go to Keyword" of the two drop-down choices.  When the little AOL Keyword window appears inviting you to type your search word, type "search window" and hit <enter> or click the "Go" button.  The next little window you see should be a "KW: Search Window" window (yeah, I know that's redundant), with a big, beautiful "OPT OUT" button in the center and the heart-warming promise that if you select it, you will not see the evil beast upon future logins.  Believe it and rejoice.  (FYI, should you ever wish to make it come back (why?), the process works in reverse to OPT IN later).  Enjoy!
