Why all of a sudden when I hit reply to my email ...

Why all of a sudden when I hit reply to my email is my email copying the original email, allowing me space to leave a message. I had all my mail settings in all my accounts set NOT to do this. Ever since upgrading to AOL Desktop 9.6, I have had to "fix" my reply emails to what I used to have available to me in my mail preferences. Can this be fixed???

If you "all of a sudden" upgraded to AOL 9.6 then that is why you're reply format changed suddenly.  You can change how the original message is quoted in your replies (see Mail Settings), but there is no setting to disable automatic quoting.

If you select (highlight) a small piece of text, it will only quote that.  That makes it easier to delete the quote.

Ask the sender to send it to you again. If you are the sender and were not doing it in a word processor, then you are out of luck.
