aol e-mail problem

Hi, When i go to my e-mail, I go to the individual e-mail and 'select and action to be performed' that is the down arrow box on the e-mail line. If I pick 'View message source' I go to a entire view of the message and read it, when done I click on the gray 'x' box but come completely out of the Internet instaed of bax to my e-mail box. What setting should I have to change to correct that problem.
