If AOL Software won't open, how do I access the e-mail in it saved to my PC?

Have AOL 9.0 software on my desktop from many years ago. Need to clean out the old jokes and other e-mails I saved to my PC in there over the years. I used to be able to open the program, go the mail saved on my PC and retrieve what I needed. Now the software won't open. How do I access the email saved on my PC?

Hi Joe:

So I can better assist you, could you please provide me with additional information? Do you get an error message? If you get an error message, could you tell me what it says?

The error message is "waol.exe application error.

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Press enter to terminate this application."
