Anyone any ideas on how my mind works or advice?

I feel that I have no control over my mind or thoughts and it gets me really upset. My mind over analyzes everything around me and I can?t control it. Thoughts just come into my head and I can?t stop them, all I seem to do is constantly think about everything, it?s just thought after thought then it affects my mood to the point where I just get fed up and feel as if there is just no point to anything. It has affected my sleeping also because when I try to go to sleep at night thoughts just continuously run though my mind. It just happens and I can?t stop it, every time I try to stop a thought it changes to another. It makes it hard for me to sleep at night and most of the time it makes me more awake. It has started to change my mood dramatically, I have lost interest in the things that I used do. It?s just like one moment I am okay then the next I just feel that there is no point and get really fed up with what ever I?m doing at that moment in time. Sometimes it seems as if my body is telling me that I am dying. I then feel drained off energy and worthless, sometimes it feels as if I am on my own and not in reality. I even struggle to enjoy myself when with friends and there have been times where I have even question my relationship with the people who would consider themselves as my friends. Recently I ended up going towards taking drugs, mainly cannabis and a legal drug called mephedrone that was big in the UK but recently banned and to this day I still do not know my reason for taking them. I don?t know what the specific problem with me is but I have been searching the internet the past while, reading about OCD, Bipolar and other mental health disorders to try and understand plus find out more about what I have been experiencing. If anyone could help me understand I would be very greatful.

It sounds a little like Autism. You may want to look into that. Autism can actually be an amazing thing once a person learns how to channel it.

For me, I always believe things are coming from a Spiritual aspect, Good vs. Evil! So when my mind or life starts to get out of whack (so to speak) I start Praying for protection like nobodies business!  I say "Dear Lord send your strongest Angels"! By the way, this happens to me so I Pray on a daily basis! It works.

Good luck to you. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon, and no one wants to pump you up with drugs that could only make things worse. God bless you!

The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Your post is in and of itself distressing.  You offer multiple complaints.  You need a psychiatric evaluation.  I would strongly advise you to seek help from a psychiatrist or psychologist.  Getting advise via the internet is bound to complicate your thinking and cause you further distress, since with limited information you have given and not being able to obtain other data to evaluate you, the best anyone could do for you is an opinion, which is likely to do you little good.  Please, get professional help.

Ladydoc is right - you should definitely speak to a mental health counselor for advice - hopefully they can steer you to some form of help that does not involve drugs that do nothing to give you mental mastery.

While you're doing that, you might take a look at the free mental training ebook I provide at no obligation.  The ebook is titled "7 Days To Better Brain Fitness" and will give you all the information you need to start controlling your attention and your thoughts.  Again, there's nothing to buy or join, and the course is completely self-contained.  The link is:  http://www.neuro-sculpting.com/training/free-7-day-course

The course is 7 days long, but the actual training takes serious commitment to train yourself over the long term.  If you start the training, keep me up to date as to your progress, and do not neglect to speak to a counselor who cares more about you than the profits they can get from drug companies.

Do not feel alone, we all face the challenges of having our minds overwork are mental actions.  We must find within self a solution other than drugs, alcohol, other addictions we may think will comfort us.

We often miss opportunities to the limits of the way we sinse thing of the world. Your mind uses a small part of the outside world it perceives, we make up the rest mentally.

So I suggest to you and myself, when our minds starts to race, take 10 deep breaths and think of pleasant thought that strengthen us!

Hope this helps.
