to Donna aka Maya. It,s me again. I am seeing a therapist who is doing me no good at all. All she tells me is to try and get out more. Hell, I,m scared to go to the grocery store. I had to go out on disability retirement from my job because my anxiety is to bad. Like I said, I,ve had 2 colonoscopys before and I don,t know why this one is so scary to me. Do you have any ideas why this would happen. I had a lot of dental work done a couple of years ago and ever since then I,ve been scared of everything.

Please switch therapists. Not every therapist will be a good fit for your personality. If your current therapist is not effective, search out one who is.

You might also consider joining A.A. if you are ready to stop drinking. Alcohol can exacerbate your behavior and make your current issues worse than they already are - it is impossible to treat the symptoms if you keep masking them with other issues (i.e., booze).

Find a doctor you like, then be honest with him or her about your health (mental and otherwise) and your habits (including medications and alcohol).

Then take it a day at a time and a step at a time until you get through each obstacle. These constant whining questions you're asking on Yedda are getting you nowhere. You've been offered several solutions - TAKE ONE!

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think. ~ Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. (B. Franklin) ~ I do not respond in Comments ~ Trespassers will be eaten. Cowards, idiots and spammers will be shot on sight. ~ Ask a Yeddai

Yep..your therapist needs a therapist.  Move along, but before you knock on someone else's door, why not try working on things yourself.  Seek out some information on line about Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).  This unbelievable technique has been around for a few years now and it's knocking hell out of peoples anxieties and negative emotions.  It's the simplest process and you can learn it very quickly via a couple web sites, ie; www.emofree.com, or www.tappingoneverything.com, or www.123eft.com.  Check them out...lots of information there.  You can also find a therapist in your area that teaches it so you can learn better if you prefer the one on one.  Once you understand what and how to use this wonderful technique, you will literally take back your own power in every area of your life.  Do it...for heavens sake.

There are so many therapists out there and each unique. It may take alot of searching to find the one who will help you. From what you say you are wasting your time with the one you are going to. A good therapist will give you work to do. Work that will lead to progress. (Not perfection) Don't settle. Don't waste your time. Best of luck to you.
