Hippos are mentined in the Bible (It appears as Be'he'mot" in the Hebrew version).

Love is the battery of life....

Surely this is the 'behemoth' - a mythical monster, which along with the leviathion is mentioned in Job 40:15-24

It's not a hippopotamus.

I still insist that Behemoth is the same to hippopotamus (at least it is what the Hebrew dictionary says and is often used in cross-words).

P.S - The hebrew word for Wale is "Liv'ya'tan" (what you call Leviathion).   and Livyatan is mentioned together with "Wild Ox" (in Hebrew:  Shor Ha'Bar).

During Egypt's Ancient history, hippopotamus oil was used frequently for anointing.  Therefore, hippos were definitely around in Biblical times.

God was a hippopotamus in his gulag with the white rhino. Is there an atheist that isn't a white rhino? Nothing they ever do is worthwhile, they sit in their gulags passing the time by eating missionary testicles.

Elephants and giraffes were in Africa, not in the Middle East.  A giraffe was brought to Rome in 46 AD.  Hannibal brought elephants across the Alps in 218 BC.  So they were known in the Roman Empire.
