The very first religion is the most logical religion: faith itself.  We inherently know that we are created beings and that the material universe around us is also created -- by the same Creator.  We know that our Creator has a personality, has personal likes and dislikes, and has a family after which we model our families.

We also know that members of The Eternal's Family are similarly divine.

Knowing them as Persons, and knowing that they expect a certain reasonable moral standard of us, brings us up from the bestial state.  This makes us as much divine (with an emphasis on the lower case 'd') as mortal.

Past that we have rules that others have devised for our benefit based on their experience and the wise lessons of history.  Rational pserons call that civil statute law.

Atheists demand to control others by means of extortion, lies, fraud, and hate, because they hope for easy money via criminal racketeering, but that is the only excuse that exists for atheism. 

Cults that behave as do atheists are also properly considered atheist, regardless their extreme pretenses that they follow an irrational, bitter, and hateful god that demands the cult sacrifice of all their children in futile suicide attacks.  Islam immediately leaps to mind, although Baal and Ashtoreth cults are the direct precursors of Islam.

God put us here to work out our own plan of redemption, and gave us one that involved His Son having lived among us and laid down His life as the price for our salvation.

In the case of Christianity, we go back to the first moment of creation.  No other religion has done so.
