Aluminum Foil Melted on Cooktop

My wife melted some aluminum foil onto out smooth glass cooktop, and it is very difficult to get off.  Does anyone know of a method that can help remove the aluminum?

Aluminum foil can be removed by using alkalies such as Drano and also by acids, But PLEASE, be careful with such chemicals.
