How many B-17 fortresses are still flying and where are they located?

To my knowledge there is just one that was restored by the "Confederate Airforce" ...a group of pilots restored it with member contributions, and fly it at the Oshkosh Air Show and shows around the country

did a little research on this - not really satisfied - may be a little out of date?  there are 17 registered in the us.  no info about other countries.  info i got indicated that there are about 12 in flying condition at any given time.  they go down for overhauls, lack of parts, etc.  ran out of time on this but do a search for FAA website - look for registrations, look for b-17 or boeing b-17.  that list shows what states they are registered in.  could try boeing for info - i didn't.  certainly not all are in "airshow" condition - some used to be used as fire fighters - today, don't know.  hope this some help.

There's a B17 being assembled in Urban Ohio right now...2 years into the project
