How much gas does the AC eat up? I'm talking about in terms of using the AC (air conditioner) for cool air and hot as well. Sometimes I will just sit in my car for about an hour with the heater on on the phone to get away from my noisy house.I have a Honda Accord Coupe 2006 V4.Also if it does depend on what kind of car one has, how much of a difference does it make?
Keep those windows down, Josh!
Back in the days when I was younger and irresponsibility was the only words found in my lexicon of long words, I was not good about putting gas in my car and in the summer, I would find myself turning off the A/C hoping to coast into the gas station. I later found out that running the A/C probably only decreases you ampg by 1 mpg.
Just say the word if you are tired about the fart jokes and I'll try to remember.
hahahhaa you can joke all you wanttt I'm not sensitive =D... But thanks for the answer!!
If you are talking about sitting in a still car with the AC running, you probably double the fuel use relative to the same car sitting still without the AC running - assuming hot weather. If it uses 1/2 gallon per hour with AC, it might only consume 1/4 gallon per hour without.
Not sure what you mean about heat, but during cold weather, if you run the defroster, you run the AC also. In that case, the fuel consumption should be about the same as with the AC during hot weather. If you use heat only - no defroster - the AC does not run. In that case, you should be back to the 1/4 gallon per hour range.
