In most cases it is possible to use the Air Abrasion system without anesthetic so patients can avoid anesthetic injections (i.e. freezing). Air Abrasion can be used effectively to repair cracks, discolorations and prepare tooth surfaces for bonding procedures. Once decay has been removed, the tooth can be restored with composite resins or "white fillings." Compared to drilling, the air abrasion process is quieter, and eliminates much of the discomfort of a conventional drill.
