Advice for high school freshman

I'm starting high school this fall and i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect, or pretty much anything about high school. I'm reaallly nervous because I'm going to a school where my friends aren't so that isn't really helping...

hey there :) i know that high school can seem like a scary place, and it's not so comforting when you know your friends are going to different high schools. making friends can be hard, but you aren't the only person in your position. every 9th grader is scared of their first days of high school, and there are always new people who don't know anyone. i say this because you should be yourself, smile, talk to those around you, be nice... and you should have a couple friends at least by the end of the first week. talk with people in between classes, be social, and just be open minded. try to relax and just go with the flow. you'll be fine! good luck.

Starting high school is a big change, but can also be a bit scary and exciting at the same time. What you are going to notice is that the school is much bigger and there are going to be a lot more people. It might be intimidating at first and you are not going to know where to go and where your classroom is, but just remember, everyone else who is starting is going to be feeling the exact same way. As far as meeting people, say hi to the people that you sit next to in your classes, and make jokes about getting lost and turn the awkward, intimading situation into something funny. Basically, break the ice. You will see that after about a week or so, not only will you be much more familiar with the school, but you will already be starting to make friends!! The key is to keep a positive attitude!
