Address book hacked

My aol address book got hacked this morning about 8:12ish and the hacker sent out spam.  My computer was off and not active at the time.  I caught it before too much damage was done and changed my password.  I understand this problem has happened before and is coming thru AOL.  What else can I do

Please make sure you have recent anti-virus software installed, run it frequently and change your passwords often! Please have it changed to a non-trivial password using upper and lower case letters and numbers and change it frequently to prevent this from happening again. More info can be found here

This is obviously a problem with AOL and not with user computers.  My account was hacked and so was my mom's, and we're in separate states!  It seems a LOT of people are currently having this problem.  I hope AOL is at least working on a fix while their denying responsibility.
