I have a friend who bought this glass scratch removal set that seems to work on everything. I think it seems like a really great investment and is much cheaper than replacing your windows! Check it out here. Good luck!
I hired Etch Busters to fix mine and they did it for I think half the price to replace them. they are in los angeles. etchbusters.com i think. they did a good job
Y ou can only rinse the acid as soon as it is discovered. Diluting the acid will stop the action and reduce the amount of damage to the glass. Once the glass is damaged there is nothing you can do, yourself, to get that glass back to normal. I recommend using a professional glass restoration company such as RapidRenu in San Francisco. Be wary of home remedies : You will hear that you can use vinegar -- only recommended for salads. You will hear that you can use steel wool (fine gauge). This will give you acid etch with very fine scratches around it. The time and energy you would have to put in to attempt to repair the damaged glass is extensive.
You will also be told that the only remedy is to replace the glass. That is a very expensive and wasteful alternative.
