Yes, I think there is.  Of course, there are a wide array of variables involved.  Some would say the music to expose a child to has to be classical, or some other type, while I would say it's always best if it's nothing overcomplicated or bad-hearted music, if that makes any sense.  You want your kid to grow up to be some kinda arrogant moron with a bad attitude, then play Metallica for them and see how it affects them.  May not have a negative effect at all though.  When the child mind starts processing what it's ears are giving it, it may be just as good to give them any kind of music except for rap.  And since we can see what that does to the mind's of some 'near-adults', no sense even going there.......

yes, I think there is. There a lot of labels that carry music that is said to help in a child's development. When I was pregnant, I remember listening to a lot of those and reading to my child to help stimulate his brain. I guess it helped because he is turning out to be one smart kid.

I think that the mental abilities developed when listening to music, extend over a lot of other areas in ability of thought.  I, personally, am a musician, and used to respond to a lot of types/styles that I didn't appreciate.  I generally anymore can give most anything a listen, and see some positives in it, even if it's nothing I'd listen to myself for any reason.  I can go from classical, to bluegrass, to blues, to country, to rock and roll, to jazz, and on and on.  Teaching a child to have ignorant prejudice towards any musical style, is training them to be ignorant.  Teaching them to listen, and make their own choices about what they hear, is a hallmark of freedom.........

Yes music has something to do with a child's development. Music helps the child in a way that he can recognize different tones as well as the pronunciation of words. When speaking of bedtime habits and routines, using an organic baby sleep sack would best accompany the child during sleep.
