Pelosi’s Government-Run Health Plan Will Require a Monthly Abortion Premium

Pelosi’s Government-Run Health Plan Will Require a Monthly Abortion Premium

Health care reform should not be used as an opportunity to use federal funds to pay for elective abortions. Health reform should be an opportunity to protect human life - not end it.

Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s 2,032-page government takeover of health care does just that.  On line 17, p. 110, section 222 under “Abortions for which Public Funding is Allowed” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run plan.  The Speaker’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions.

What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run plan.  It’s right there on line 16, page 96, section 213 , under “Insurance Rating Rules.”  The premium will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account - and these federal funds will be used to pay for the abortion services .

This has been changed.  By the by, it's not Pelosi's plan. She is the Speaker, but she is not the author.

What was it changed to?She may not be the author, but she sure wants everyone to think she is and that she runs the show. Bet she knows more what's in the plan than the President himself.I doubt if anyone has stayed up pass their bed time to read it all the way through. This is gosh darn important and should be read through and through. I wouldn't be able to finish it in my life time if I start now. They are elected to know every nook and cranny of everything they try to pass.

Your direction,not your intentions,determines your destination. .

Dear Sir, It is my understanding, and most in the Congresses, that NO monies shall be used for abortion, I don't understand how Mr. Bonier can, in good faith, claim that the object of the Universal Health Plan is for abortion. It is NOT. The Universal Health Plan, as with numbers of countries in the world sponsering such bills, are paying for the poor and middle classes medical bills so that the middle classes and poorer classes will not be forced into bankrupcy. A Univerversal Health Care bill is not only expedient, but necessary for the survival of this great Nation of ours before there is no middle and poorer members of this society. The Republcans, the Party of NO, claim that this bill will do many things to this Nation, but will it now? What the many of the Republican Party is doing is trying to foist fear among the middle classes and lower classes of this Nation so that they will not support the bill. That, as far as I am concerned, is viciousness at the ultimate of greed. When the next election comes along, in the year 2012, as I did with Obama, I shall vote Democratic again. The reason to me is obvious. The Republican Party wishes to protect wealth at any expense. The Democrats wish to spead the "money around and make the poorer and middle classes at least slightly competitive to the top 1 and 1/2 percent in this Nation who ownes more than 95% of the wealth. The rest of the crumbs that fall from their tables to the floor is all that is left to us hard working party at the bottom middle and lesser classes of this Nation. My suggestion is to read, "Formation of the Union," Edited by Charles Tansil, Government Printing Office, 1929. It is an extremely thick book containing the Journals of several men who attended the Constitutional Convention of 1787-1789. The most important Journal is James Madisons. In that journal it clearly shows my argument without me even bothering to explain it to you and the Party of NO. Michael Joel Held

Hello R.P.,

Are you familiar with the Stupak/Pitts..... Amendment? This was put forth before the vote in the house and passed. Without it many of the Pro-Life Dems would not vote for the Pelosi Franken-bill. It states that no tax payer funds will be used for abortion! Thank G-d for this victory. I personally think the bill will arrive to the Senate D.O.A.

Just like the original 2,032-page, government-run health care plan from Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) massive, 2,074-page bill would levy a new “abortion premium” fee on Americans in the government-run plan.
Beginning on line 7, p. 118, section 1303 under “Voluntary Choice of Coverage of Abortion Services” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run health plan.  Leader Reid’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions (line 13, p. 120).
What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run health plan.  It’s right there beginning on line 11, page 122, section 1303, under “Actuarial Value of Optional Service Coverage.”  The premium will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account – and these federal funds will be used to pay for the abortion services.
Section 1303(a)(2)(C) describes the process in which the Health Benefits Commissioner is to assess the monthly premiums that will be used to pay for elective abortions under the government-run health plan and for those who are given an affordability credit to purchase insurance coverage that includes abortion through the Exchange.  The Commissioner must charge at a minimum $1 per enrollee per month.

Once the government gets involved in paying for abortions, how long do you think it will be before they start deciding what babies are "fit" to live. Far fetched? It can happen! Beware, your child could be next.

Love one another.

It seems strange coming from a right wing Republican that you should bring up the issue of abortion. I would take a stab and say that you are also a deeply religious person and that would also have a bearing on your sentiments. Am I right in my assessment?

I find it incomprehensible that since the Health Care Plan came into the fore that Republicans, those right of center, and religious, BELIEVE that there will be a co-pay for anything to do with abortion. The truth is further than your truth. There is no part of the Universal Health Bill that will allow abortion payments under NO CIRCUMSTANCES. You see your Republican buddies made sure that the bill would be so unpallitable that they believed the bill to be dead.

I would dare you to show everyone, on this site, that there is that provision, anywhere in the bill, that says that there will be an ABORTION co-payment as a secondary souce to that bill. If you can, from a reliable source, then I will kiss your ass, naked, undressed or dressed, your choice in the middle of Times Square in New York. If you can't point out that there will be another charge, you must kiss my ass, naked or dressed in the middle of Times Square. Is that a deal? Michael Joel Held

Help us along.. we are all for the right winger no medicine at all bill that we rich healthcare coverage groups want to see..

Now here is a little good that shows how NOT intelligent the teabaggers are.. and of course, their tearo hero proof that Glennda Beck is equal to them..
