twitters - I'm a 62 y/o female who, after working 2 jobs for 20-25 years, landed up on a disability at the age of 54 so I don't get out much. Actually, my disability is called "Failed Back Surgery Syndrome" and although it is certainly not as horrific as cancer, MS, MD, etc. it pretty much took over my world. So now I find myself living in my cyber world, but I miss talking to real people!

I've tried 2 other blog places but just didn't get them. How is twitter different than them? How does one twitter? Is it to meet people, get frustrations out or what? Can anyone help me? And if I decide to actually try twitter, exactly how do I go about doing so? Is there a "Twitter For Dummies" floating around in cyber space? LOL Help!

You sound angry (justifiably) girl but you sure do have a sense of humour and I love that - meet your partner in crime.  I too am a 62 year old girl and had worked as a PA for many years but had to retire, same age as you, due to an autoimmune illness - I missed work so much.  I refused to join in with the Gray brigade - was not ready - all my friends were working and boy I was depressed!!!  Still do get depressed but try to rise above as much as I can.  Anyway, I don't know anything about this twittering site but if you want intelligent twitter, twitter away with me you are more than welcome.  I live in Cardiff.  Oh, and by the way I am more than willing to join the gray brigade now - how time changes your views on life.  Jeannie

You can easily learn twitter to connect with real people.  I have made several real friends.  Many times we get on the phone.  Try visiting my blog at http://jaysontcote.com/twitter/ to learn more.  Here is the official Twitter guide as well http://business.twitter.com/twitter101/

All the best,

I am 74 and wanting to twitter too, so i am in the same boat.  Would like to follow the tweets people like Joy Behar and Wolf Blitzer get.  Love the talk shows and the cable news shows.  When you find out what you're doing, let me know.
