1981 FORD F150 302 MOTOR QUESTION

Hi,

 I took a 1985 ford f150 and took all the imssions control off and put a intake with a carburator on it . It runs fine but i need to know if i can block off the bar that is on the back of the block that is for carring exhaust to the emimmions pupm that is no longer there . The bar has to be on there unless there are plugs that they have to  plus the hole on each side of the block.

It's against the law to alter a vehicle's emissions system.

Conservation: Paying more and getting less.

hi bob,

not here in west va it is not if the motor was already that way and in the truck . we dont have emissions control down here , that started in MD by GOV.Shaffer and his friend Jerry brown in Ca. to fill their pockets and it's a real and honest rip off and i know i lived in MD and would take a car that run so bad and smoked and it would still pass and would take a newer car there and it would fail.

Yes you can plug the holes i did it on my 93 cobra mustang that had no emissions. That tube takes exaust to the cats and i assuming you dont have them on anymore.

Hey Rev,  The tubes are bolted onto the back of the heads. Cut the tubes and leave about one and a half inches of tube on the assembly that bolts to the head. Pinch the tubes shut and weld or braze the ends to prevent leaks and eliminate noise and emissions.  After this just bolt the pieces back on. I've done this several times and I've never had any problems. P.S. I'm a long term Ford man.
