1970-1971 gmc "el camino" what was the name and how rare today?
I still see quite a few around in Canada. Most of them are nicely restored and only driven at weekends, but I regularly see 2 in original shape -that look like hard working pickups. One of those owners told me he'd had it since new and saw no point in 'tarting it up' . -On the other hand one of the restored owners told me his had been valued at 25,000. (He didn't say who by) -It was very nice, with a new looking 350 and a spotless engine compartment, new upholstery. ~ The name 'El Camino' means -'the way' or 'the road' . - Ford had a similar, but in my opinion not so nice, car that they named 'Ranchero' - I believe it was based on the 75 LTD II .
