I'm a child of divorced parents and i think it depends on the situation. As long as the other parent isnt going to mistreat the child then i would def. say a child age 13 has a right to decide who she wants to live with or if she wants to visit her other parent. As long as the child will taken care of. I'm not saying let a child make adult decisions but from experience a child needs both of his/her parents at diffrent times/ages throughout thier life. 13 was a difficult age for me & there were things i could say to my mom that i would never say to my dad and vice verus.

Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. You have yours and I have mine. Doesn't mean I'm right & your wrong. It just makes us diffrent.

As a mother i can't imagine having to send my child to visit someone they was scared of. So my thoughts and prayers are with you both. I don't know all of the details to your situation however i can give you my opinion and share my experience growing up. I wanted to live with my dad and my mom wouldn't let me but when i turned 13 my dad took my mom back to court and me n my 2 younger brothers got to talk to the judge ourselves and tell them what we wanted and why. We got placed in our father's custody soon after that. So if i were you i would hire a lawyer if you haven't already and he can tell you the best thing to do. You could sue your child's father for full custody and no visitation or atleast supervised visitation. Your child being 13 they should take his testimony into consideration. I wish you the best of luck and i hope this helps you! If you ever need to talk you can email me at seximama5388@aol.com

I am going thru the same thing with my 11 year old daughter. In Texas the age is 12 where someone will listen to the child. I think that the child should be heard and their feelings taken into consideration.IN my case there was mental and emotional abuse wity my daughter caused by her dad.

We got a lawyer we go to court August 4th TY for all your inputs.

You women are probably lying...  I am sure if the truth be known you are just making up BS to prevent a relationship with the Father.  That is typical of what the modern day woman is trying to accomplish.
