BDA stands for Budlong, Docherty, and Armstrong from Providence, Rhode Island. They were a prolific ( as in busy as bees) jewelry maker from the 30's through the 80's. They mostly made costume jewelry, which was almost all of what 10K gold jewelry is. Some of their costume jewelry is worth a couple hundred dollars if it is one of the fancier and still desirable pieces. They used some real gems mixed in with glass jewels, so you might want to have your piece looked at by a jeweler. They made jewelry in 10K, 14K, and sterling silver.

I may not be Mr. Know It All, but I knew him well and he taught me much.

i suppose its name of some brand

Can one use 10k gold solder to build up a layer of gold on a 14k gold

Understand that the smaller the number of karats, the less gold it contains and the more alloys it contains. Though you could use that solder, you would not be able to match the color of the 14k piece. If you have a piece of jewelry that needs repair, take it to a professional jeweler and have it ...

I am running a 10K in 5 weeks. Can anyone help me with my diet?

First off, don't think of it as a "diet". Diets are evil, because you seem to die of deprivation. Eat a portion sized meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and drink one glass of water before and after each meal. When training to run, practice by running around your block a few times. But with that ...

Gold dust

Gold dust is a quite uncertain commodity: assay will reveal what is in it, in what percentages, and whether or not it is a commercially viable sample. Unassayed gold dust might be worth only $150.00/oz, considering the level of contaminants and pyrites that may be in it.
