Discuss eva83919's answer to: Why is the 1040 Tax Form impossible to find this year?

Why can't I find a Federal 1040 Form this year? Never had this trouble before! What is going on? Does the Government want us all to go to H & R Block? Who's getting the kickbacks????

The IRS and most states no longer print forms. Even as preparers, we used to be able to get a book of forms every year, but they stopped printing it a couple of years ago. They used to send a master book to post offices and most libraries, but it is my understanding that they're not doing that any more either. All forms can be downloaded at www.irs.gov. One of the reasons they no longer print is because the congress has been changing the laws long after the printing deadline has passed.

Thank you Eva for your informed answer, not that I like it, but that's not your fault. Why is our Government so screwed up these days? If everyone just had to pay 5% or whatever of their income and mail in the check once a year, there would be no need for these dumb forms. I can well imagine that everyone will be quite late paying taxes this year!
