Obama is right that Government has a key role in the Recovery. This key role is "Umpire" of the economy to ensure the "Players" play fair. Obama is wrong that it is Government's responsibility to purchase "things & services" for The People. The Constitution ensures all Americans the "Right to the Pursuit of Happiness," not happiness. Citizens have the obligation to "play fair" and to "work hard" to earn money to provide for their families good health, good housing and a good life, as well as a good Government (by paying taxes to support the Umpire). The best Government is the least Government because The People want to minimize its expense, e.g. taxes, to increase their own Savings. Obama is changing the Founders' Constutional fundamentals. As Will Rodgers said, "When 'We The People' learn that 'We' can vote themselves free goods & services with their Elected Representatives running US Treasury printing presses, Democracy is dead....." This is what's happening. The End of the Founders Dream ? The beginning of Socialism? Obama is smart -- he knows that Government buying Cheeseburgers for the "Middle Class" stimulates the economy & wins votes ... and they are "eating it up."
