I have never heard of this in particular. Being such a sensitive area perhaps it might be a sensitivity to the undergarment you are wearing. For instance, do you use bleach?

Of course you could always refuse it, but it depends on the reason for it. Try to save an ovary if you can. I had to have one and was not able to. I don't miss my uterus or my period one bit.
