Answered: ATP ranking and the Davis Cup

Davis cup results dont affect the ATP ranking. Olympic Games do affect, and gives points por the ATP ranking, but only the singles event.

I believe the only reason is that he matched against Rafael Nadal who is in his finest moment ever... Only Nadal can match up to Federer in grass nowadays... The match could have gone either way.
