About LotsaProjects:

Retired "Snow Bird". (I run away from winters from January - April.) Like many retirees, I thought I "planned for my Golden Years" but our DC "representatives" have left me down. (Meaning I've taken a big "hit" on my IRA/Retirement Savings.) Costs WILL be an issue/deciding factor for the projects I list within and their priorities. Yep - "LotsaProjects" to complete & ready my home for sale (when current housing market recovers)! "Looking at the bright side" though..., I guess that gives me time to get the house in shape for resale.

Hi Joe, Your reply is just as important as the actual one I sought. Actually, it's 'part of the answer' and better to know about which products NOT to use, before even getting started to look and ...

Answered: Composting Toilet

Kelly, That was an outstanding reply, although not the answer I was seeking. There happens to be a "normally-sized" basement window in that room, but years ago I had it converted to Glass Block, so ...

Asked: Composting Toilet

Asked: Black Iron Waterline Replacement

My 1936-built home has typical-for-the-time, wood-lath based, plaster walls. They are in terrific condition! Water pressure to the two bathrooms is not good. The basement ceiling is PLASTERED ...

Asked: Whole-Basement Dehumidifier

My basement walls are not "typical" Concrete Block. They're a type of "tile" (light beige & "smooth"). Apparently this type of material was never to be painted. A prior owner had painted most of the ...

Asked: Basement Floor "spalding"

My 1936-built home has a basement. Patches of the concrete floor "flake" and/or have white residue which can be swept away. In a few areas under some carpeting there are "lumps" of buildup, which I ...

Asked: Tree-installed Low Voltage Lighting

I had Low Voltage, outdoor lighting, installed during a Decking Project more than 10 years ago. It required 2 Transformers - one photo-sensative to turn on certain lights at night & the other without ...

Asked: Skylight Leaks

After the contractor when bankrupt, which was before my Addition project was completed, I was left with 2 leaky skylights (among other problems). Following my contractor's bankruptcy, I had a Roofing ...

Asked: "Split" A/C Unit Selection & Installation

My 1936 2-story brick home has a basement-installed Forced Air heating system. Oddly, the ductwork is "reversed" from normal - with the Heat Vents exhausting on the INSIDE walls and the Cold Air ...
